Blackjack is a game where you play against the dealer with other people around you sitting at the same table playing against the dealer also. You are NOT playing against the other people sitting around you. The object of blackjack is to try and get as close as you can to 21 or 21 without going over. Blackjack rules will be critical to your success so you will need to learn as many as you can. So if you bought some kind of card counting strategies, I am sorry but you definitely wasted your time and your money. The only proven blackjack strategies are ones using the blackjack strategy chart along mixed in with a winning system. How to play blackjack is a burning question many advent blackjack players want to know. More especially they want to know how to play blackjack and make a CONSISTENT WINNING playing. Again, the best blackjack tips I could ever give you is to stay clear of card counting strategies and pick up a copy of a free blackjack strategy guaranteed to dominate the house. You will be bringing down the house in no time. Eventually you will be winning so much casinos will think you are cheating! Sounds a little farfetched but it happened to me back in 1992. The casino was keeping a close eye on me at the blackjack table and even took me into a small room and questioned me. They told me they have never seen anyone win as much as I was doing. At one point I won 24 hands in a row, setting a record at that time which is still held today by me in that same casino. It is an amazing feeling constantly beating the house. The house is designed to have a 5% better chance than you winning EVERY SINGLE TIME. I don’t know about you, but that’s not fair. Using proven strategies you will eliminate the houses edge and you will actually have a 95% to 5% chance of crushing the HOUSE consistently! I wish you the best in your blackjack career!

Not sure offhand, but unless you are convinced you are a very above-average dealer, you might reconsider – splitting tips helps protect you from slow nights when you're stuck with a table full of skinflints.
if your NOT counting cards – do not play for long sessions – the more likely you will get UNLUCKY and lose your buy-in

how much is enough? depending how conservative or risky you are if you can triple your money EXIT FAST! if you double it – and like leaving with 100% profit – GREAT JOB!!!
Always remember if your NOT counting even with flawless basic strategy you are STILL favored to LOSE over the LONG HAUL!!!
Never play at a table that pays 6 to 5 instead of standard 3 to 2 on blackjack
* Never take insurance (unless your betting table MAX and your dealt 20 against the ace)
* Never Surrender – even on 15 and 16 you have a 38% to improve your hand )

Basic math skills is basicly it this is a game of chance for some people but to others it’s a game of logic vs. The dealer. You can simply count the cards to improve your odds of winning and all you need is some practice and atleast the ability to put 1 and 1 together and do the basic equations:
1+1=2
-1+1=0
-1+-1=-2

I also have played BJ many years with great success. I limit my sessions to no more than 2 hours, and limit my chip loss to $15 on any table. If I lose more than that I switch tables or casinos. My win rate is around 70%, you must keep a record of all your sessions. I've have been barred in 3 casinos. You must learn basic strategy and card counting. The key to winning, is how you accept losing sessions, like the hotshots on the movie 21 that thought they could not lose.
well i dont know what it is in vegas but i live in new orleans and i know a few dealers and they make about 65000 a year thats an average poker dealers here in louisiana make about 75000 you have to remember most all casinos use the pool system where the tips get put into a pool then evenly distrubted between all the dealers on your shift its not a deal where you get 5 bucks and those are yours

you are allowed to bring one of those "cheat sheet" cards that you can buy at the sundries store to help you out. It will tell you when to hit or stand depending on your cards.

IMO, the El Cortez, has the best low limit game, they have 6 single deck 3/2 games and the minimum is usually $5.
Main Street Station has a very nice casino & $5 minimums.
The Westin Casuarina has for several years had "Gamblers Happy Hour" from 5pm-10pm weekdays. Table minimums are $1 >I did not go over there in December, if you're interested call and check, this is a nice casino with very friendly dealers.

First off, find a table that is having fun, including the dealer. #1 – When you walk up to the table – Check the table minium, >you don't want to sit down at a $100 game and try to buy-in for $50< – place your money on the table, but not in a betting circle – ask the dealer for, change please.
#2 – if you plan extended play, 40x your minimum bet is the recommended buy-in.
#3 – Place your bet, inside the betting circle – most blackjack games do not allow you to touch the cards – tap or scratch the table, with a finger, for a hit – wave your hand over the table to stand – to split(pairs/aces) do the "hook'em horns" hand signal in the direction of your cards.
#4 – You might find a "basic strategy" card to be useful. They sell them in every casino gift shop. No, it's not against the rules to use one.

this isnt really very good advice. at the end when he says you should hit on 12 vs a dealer 9? in that situation your pretty much fucked either way. its best to hope for dealer bust because really the only card that would help you is an 8 or a 9. if you get a picture you go bust and if you take a card and its not an 8 or 9 youre TAKING the dealer bust card. if the dealer takes a picture you were fucked anyway but if dealer takes a 7 or less you have just saved your ass
Thank you LesPaul for stating fact. Tomgun, the reason why most people end up losing is twofold: 1) the game is about 1/2% in favor of the house against a perfect player and 2) the casino’s bankroll is HUGE, so a few short term losses do not matter, vs. a loss of $1000 for a table player may be devastating. And Macdizz, you couldn’t be more wrong. Not hitting your 12 vs a dealer nine is suicide. I’m not talking from my own observation but millions of simulated blackjack hands prove it.
